Shiver me timbers

Nature provides the most beautiful silhouettes on a foggy Autumn morning in the country, the stark trees against the fog bordered with the warmth of the blanket of grass beneath.....

Cattitude!
He certainly has attitude. But such silken fur the texture in his portraits makes me want to reach out and touch the image. This was my intention with this composition. I also think the contrast of his green eyes with the purple/pink blanket and his green eyes helps to balance this image.

Pattern
I love finding patterns that are found in nature. This Echeveria gives a repetition that the eye can follow, pattern in photographs can give the picture a balance or rhythm that the eye can follow. The colour in this capture also encourages the eye to follow the rosette pattern as the shadows of the leaves bring the pattern to the fore.

Dandelion Dreams
I am pleased with the outcome of this capture, the centre of the picture is detailed and gives an accuracy to the the shot. The feathery detail gives a tactile feel to something 2 dimensional. I love a picture that makes me want to touch it! I wanted to try to capture a sense of softness and delicacy.
Working on CS4 for the first time...it seems difficult to navigate but my last two test shots have been pleasing....now I must find a tutorial ~~

I wanted to create an image that exuded a sense of darkness. This image was originally taken for its shape and texture, then post processed in CS4.

Nesting
After a big storm ripped through our local area not too long ago, my daughter and I found this adorable little nest. It had blown into our garden. It seemed to have been so lovingly put together that I wanted to photograph it to capture its beauty and the time and care mother bird had taken to make this gorgeous little home.

Illuminate'........... mwah!
Experimenting using light to display a work of visual art that is interesting, symmetrical and also detailed enough to keep the viewer engaged is a difficult task that I have been working on lately. The idea of space, darkness and light filling a portion of that space intrigues me. It can be beautiful, dark and almost sci-fi it all depends on your perspective.....i know right ;)
